Ascension - A lobsters pride and fall

In this monodrama for soprano and piano we get to meet the biggest lobster there ever was. She was older, fairer, wiser and more splendid than any other lobster in the sea, at least according to herself. Although every lobster knows to "keep your head cool or be a fool", she no longer needs to think about such things because divine Mankind has chosen her to be imbued with magnificence! After all, who needs Mankind when you're that smart?

 This piece was written as part of the project "Opera from scratch" in Nova Scotia in 2018, produced by Vocalypse productions, Canada. Here performed by the brilliant Brittany Rey.
